A Bit About Us

Committed to help my local community and make a difference to the world.

The Litter Pickers and Pie Club was founded by Andrew Asbury. First alone and then along with members of his his family and a few friends, they started to pick up litter in the village centre of Harlington in Bedfordshire. Inspired by this others also became involved and the fun/community spirit that evolved inspired the name, Litter Pickers and Pie Club.

Unlike other Community based projects, this starts from the bottom up -  giving individuals a sense of empowerment, purpose and a real belief that what they do alone, really makes a difference.

We live in a world that dumps 2.12 billion tons of waste a year. Every day, around 8 million pieces of plastic finds its way to the oceans - the lungs of the planet we depend upon to survive.

Sometimes we ask what can I achieve as one individual in a world of 7.6 billion?

The answer is, together - a lot!
